Charlotte NC Plumbers Support Kids in Need

E.R. Services of Charlotte, NC is teaming up with WSOC TV Channel 9 for the annual Steve's Coats donation drive. The winter coat drive has provided over 120,000 coats to children, babies, and teenagers in need. This year E.R. Services is joining forces with the Charlotte television station to increase donations and get the word out to residents of Charlotte in hopes that even more coats will be donated this year.

The Steve's Coats drive runs through January 16, 2017. During this time, coats can be dropped off at the WSOC TV news station or at E.R. Services' office at 648-C Matthews Mint Hill Rd in Matthews, NC.

There are two special collection dates on the calendar.

On Wednesday January 11, 2017, WSOC TV is hosting a collection effort at the television station on Tryon Street in downtown Charlotte. This event will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will include appearances from Channel 9 staff and news anchors, including weatherman Steve Udelson.

On Thursday January 12, 2017, E.R. Services is manning a collection effort hosted at Crisis Assistance Ministry, located at 500-A Spratt Street in Charlotte, NC. The collection event takes place between 10 a.m. and 12 noon on the 12th.

Update January 25, 2017

I’m happy to bring a bit of good news to your day. Once again, the community has done amazing things and donated a record 21,636 COATS to Steve’s Coats for Kids. Over a thousand more coats than last year. With incredible partnerships, some coats were cleaned and on the rack at Crisis Assistance Ministry within fifteen hours of being donated. For a child in need, these aren’t just coats. A new coat will help keep a kid’s head held high and gives an aspect of dignity to their life.

WSOCTV said this about E.R. Services: "Without the strong commitment of E.R. Services, we would not continue to elevate every campaign we touch. I am continually inspired by the unselfish spirit of your staff."

While we button up this year of coats, please take a moment recognize that side-by-side we have done a great thing. We have a long way to go, but together we can gradually help chip away at poverty. Thanks, everyone who donated a coat or their time. Let's do it again next year!
