outdoor faucet running and broken

Why is my outdoor faucet running even though I turned it off?

Question: Why is my outdoor faucet running? I turned off the faucet, but it won’t stop running.

Answer: If your outdoor faucet is still running even though the faucet is off, you might need to replace your gasket or the valve seat. The seat is the metal opening that the gasket seals. Leaking water in the brass layer can make a tiny tear in the channel. If the seat is the issue, replace the hose bib of your outdoor faucet as most seats are molded into the faucet and cannot be replaced without replacing the entire hose bib.
