E.R. Services in the Press
(Also DBA E.R. Plumbing Services and E.R. Restoration Services)
As an active community partner, E.R. Services (E.R. Plumbing Services) aims to make a difference in the Charlotte area. Sometimes we try to have a little fun with it, like when we sponsor concert ticket giveaways or free water heater sweepstakes. You've probably seen us at PNC music arena, and you're probably familiar with our mascot.
But some of the work we do is more serious. We recognize that not everyone is as fortunate as we are. That's why we volunteer year-round, working with charitable organizations like Ronald McDonald House, Room in the Inn and Beds=Dreams. We partner with WSOC TV Channel 9 for food, school supply and winter coat drives.
Why? Because we are committed to Charlotte. This is our home, and when one part of the Charlotte family is in pain, we all suffer. Together we can make a difference.
Read about our continued efforts to give back as reflected in the press releases posted here.
Blessings,

Charlotte Plumbing Company Partners with Local TV Station for Annual Food Drive
May 30, 2018
Charlotte plumbing company E.R. Plumbing Services is partnering with local TV station Channel 9 WSOC-TV for the 2018 Charlotte 9 Food Drive. This is the 13th year the food drive has served the community, stocking the shelves of local food pantry Second Harvest Food Bank.
Summer is a tough time for families in need. When school is in session, over 75,000 children in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System benefit from the free or reduced lunch program. However, in the summer, when school is not in session, these children do not have the guarantee of a lunch or breakfast served by the school system. More than 500,000 people in the Charlotte area are living at or under the poverty level, so the need is significant.
Food pantries that receive supplies from Second Harvest Food Bank have reported that requests for assistance are high and donations have been low this year. In addition to donations of canned non-perishable food, pantries are also requesting donations of canned or non-perishable pet food (cat food or dog food, unopened). When families are unable to feed the people in their households, pets are often overlooked.
The 2018 Charlotte 9 Food Drive runs from May 11th through Sunday June 10th, 2018. Those interested can drop off non-perishable canned goods at the E.R. Plumbing Services office, located at 11345 Allen Station Dr in Mint Hill.
E.R. Plumbing Services is partnering with Channel 9 WSOC-TV to staff a special donation day Wednesday June 6th between 10am–7pm at the WSOC-TV studio located at 1901 N. Tryon Street in Charlotte, NC 28206.
Those interested in participating can drop off donations at the E.R. Plumbing Services office and learn more about the company’s ongoing, year-round charitable efforts at the company’s website page about E.R. Plumbing Services and the Charlotte community.
Charlotte Plumbing Company Reports Number of Coats Donated to Children in Need
February 20, 2018
Dave Parker, owner of the Charlotte plumbing company, says, "Once again, the community has done amazing things and donated a record 24,041 COATS to Steve's Coats for Kids which is 2,400 more coats than last year's record collection. Many of those coats were cleaned and on the rack at Crisis Assistance Ministry within twenty-four hours of being donated. For a child in need, these aren't just coats. A new coat will help keep a kid's head held high and gives an aspect of dignity to their life."
Coats collected through the drive were cleaned and donated to families in need through Crisis Assistance Ministry through a partnership with WSOC TV Channel 9.
The plumbing company is recognized in the Charlotte metro area for its continued dedication to community service. Over the winter, the staff is especially engaged in charitable events. Those interested in giving back to the Charlotte community can join the E.R. Plumbing Services staff as they volunteer. The company supports the local Room in the Inn effort, providing manpower to an effort to serve the homeless and those in need by providing clean, safe, warm places to sleep and a hot shower and toiletries. Many of the staff man hours on the phone to support St. Jude's for children, and several of the staff volunteer hours cooking and cleaning at the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte.
Perhaps the best way to help out is to contribute supplies to the many charitable drives the company participates in each year. These charitable efforts are as follows: a coat drive each winter, a food drive each spring and a school supply drive each summer.
The local plumbing company has been in business since 1997 and serves a 25-mile radius of the city of Charlotte.

The company's owner, Dave Parker, also volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte and a local Room in the Inn location. Several other staff members volunteer with these charities as well. October 4, 2017
Charlotte plumbing company E.R. Plumbing Services, headquartered in Mint Hill, NC and serving a 25-mile radius of Charlotte, partnered with Channel 9 WSOC TV for the 2017 9 School Tools school supply donation campaign. In the winter, the company volunteers for a winter outerwear drive that benefits children in need, and in the spring the company volunteers with a food drive. Charlotte Plumbing Service Mans and Supports Local Food Drive
June 21, 2017
E.R. Plumbing Services and WSOC TV have partnered once again and have broken another Channel 9 Food Drive record. The 2017 Channel 9 Food Drive brought in 20,223 pounds of food and $3,121 in monetary donations. Each dollar Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina receives is the equivalent of seven pounds of food, so the food and financial donations resulted in the equivalent of 42,069 pounds of food, which will provide 28,046 individual meals for Charlotte area families in need.
This is a 20 percent increase from last year’s record-breaking food drive. Seniors, children, men, and women throughout a 19 county area will be given access to nonperishable food items through this effort.
“Once again, this is what E.R. Plumbing Services is all about,” says Dave Parker, owner of E.R. Plumbing Services. “From sharing blessings with the community to giving back through volunteerism, E.R. Plumbing Services is a company devoted to making Charlotte a better place to live.”
The Charlotte plumbing company has served the Charlotte metro area (30 mile radius) since 1997. A lot of things have changed in those 20 years, but one distinguishing characteristic remains constant: the company’s dedication to serving the community. If anything, the company has amped up its efforts to serve.
“In the past year, the staff has volunteered for Room in the Inn, a school supply drive, a winter coats drive, the annual food drive, and a charity event during which volunteers made beds for families that can’t afford a bed,” Parker said. “It’s been inspiring to see the staff repeatedly rise to the challenge. We have been blessed, and we are grateful to pass those blessings on to those less fortunate. Giving back is our corporate culture, and it results in a positive work environment.”

Charlotte Plumber Begins Plumbing Advice Radio Segment & Concert Ticket Giveaway
April 21, 2017
Dave Parker, owner of E.R. Plumbing Services, is known for giving back to the Charlotte community. Over the past several years, E.R. Plumbing Services has given away tankless water heaters, whole house water filtration systems, iPads, tank water heaters, and concert tickets. The staff regularly participates in community charitable efforts such as food drives, winter coat collections and distributions, school supply donation efforts, and serving the homeless through shelters.
The company’s latest efforts to give back are both fun and functional. The first is a monthly concert ticket giveaway through which Parker hopes to liven up Spring and Summer for Charlotte folks with a monthly giveaway of two concert tickets per month. Those interested can check out the company’s Facebook page for more information about the monthly giveaway.
The second effort is a dissemination of reliable plumbing advice, distributed by 96.9 FM WKKT The Kat through 60-second segments on the country radio station. Parker answers a variety of plumbing questions that are applicable to all homeowners, both do-it-yourselfers and those who are less comfortable tackling a plumbing project on their own. Those interested can tune in to 96.9 FM at 11:45 a.m. on Fridays or can listen to segments uploaded to the company site.
“As a company, E.R. Plumbing Services is dedicated to giving back to the Charlotte community,” Parker says. “The company motto is ‘Serviced once, client for life,’ and the staff tries to live up to that motto. Every plumbing technician, office staff worker, and warehouse employee is trained in customer service, and only individuals who exhibit exemplary character are hired. It is our utmost concern that our company lives up to the high standards set forth.”
Next on the docket is a food drive starting in May 2017. Those interested in learning more can visit the company website.
Charlotte NC Plumbing Company Serves Homeless Through Room in the Inn Program
March 16, 2017
"E.R. Plumbing Services has always been all about giving back to the community," says Dave Parker, owner of the Charlotte NC plumbing company and master plumber. "But the company has decided to take it up a notch this year. 2017 is going to be a year to remember."
Parker is a familiar face at Room in the Inn, a charitable program serving the homeless in Charlotte, NC. Parker volunteers weekly, spending most Tuesday nights at the Arlington Baptist Church location, making up beds, setting tables, doing dishes, doling out toiletries, and serving meals to those less fortunate.
Whenever possible, Parker encourages the staff of E.R. Plumbing Services to serve also. This past Tuesday, on March 13th, the staff joined in. "Since I'm a regular volunteer, I see that some of the meals get repetitive. We serve a lot of casseroles. But E.R. Plumbing Services wanted to make a difference, so the staff invested in some wings and pasta salad, good backyard BBQ sorts of foods." The church had just purchased a new grill, so Parker and the staff of E.R. Plumbing Services got to be the first to use the grill.
One of the problems the program faces is meeting specific needs. On Tuesday night, a father showed up with a toddler who needed size 3 pull ups. The Room in the Inn program had size 5 pull ups on hand but nothing that would fit this small child, so Parker's staff went out and got the right size pull ups. Another person needed reading glasses. Parker says these sorts of needs are the types of difficult-to-anticipate needs the staff is eager to accommodate.
"Serving the needy helps our staff recognize our good fortune," Parker says.
Room in the Inn is has been providing shelter for the needy since 1996, partnering with colleges and congregations to provide sustenance and shelter for the homeless during the winter months (the program serves December 1 – March 31st each year). Each Room in the Inn site provides a warm, safe place to sleep, three meals (dinner, breakfast, and a packed lunch and bag lunch) and provides transportation to uptown Charlotte in the mornings.
Parker and his staff are some of the 5,000 volunteers who keep Room in the Inn functioning. Volunteers drive vehicles, prepare and serve meals, make up beds, pack lunches, and do laundry and dishes.
E.R. Plumbing Services has been serving the Charlotte area since 1997. To learn more about the Charlotte plumbing company's commitment to the Charlotte community, visit the company site.

"The Charlotte community has done amazing things and donated a record 21,636 COATS to Steve’s Coats for Kids," said Dave Parker, owner of E.R. Plumbing Services. "That is over a thousand more coats than last year. Thanks to incredible partnerships and the hard work of many volunteers, a number of those coats were cleaned and on the rack at Crisis Assistance Ministry within fifteen hours of being donated."
"For a child in need, these aren’t just coats," says Parker. "A new coat will help keep a kid’s head held high and gives an aspect of dignity to that child's life."
"Without the strong commitment of E.R. Plumbing Services staff, it would not be possible to meet these goals. E.R. Plumbing Services employees manned donation locations, got the word out, and worked hard to ensure coats were collected and delivered to the proper locations."
"The staff worked hard," said Parker, "but that's just par for the course when it comes to E.R. Plumbing morale, attitude, and commitment. The techs and office staff alike are committed to chipping away at poverty in Charlotte. It's a lofty goal, but E.R. Plumbing is determined to make a difference in every way possible."

Charlotte School Supply Drive Provides Supplies to Kids in Need
August 23, 2016
Dave Parker, owner of Charlotte plumbing company E.R. Plumbing Services, partnered up with Channel 9 WSOC TV for the annual school supply drive with exceptional results. The local plumbers provided a donation location in Mint Hill, NC. They also sponsored commercials promoting the campaign and staffed donation events. The campaign ran for three weeks in August.
Activities included a kick-off event at the NASCAR Hall of Fame with NASCAR drivers, sports team mascots, food and activities for kids, all focused on promoting academic excellence, commitment to schools and rallying the support of the community around kids in need who might not have the budget to buy school supplies. E.R. Plumbing Services collected donations throughout the duration of the campaign, and then manned the main donation drive at the WSOC TV station. The campaign ended with an effort by the U.S. Postal Service, through which donors could contribute school supplies by putting them in any U.S.P.S. mailbox on a designated date for pick up and delivery to the distribution center.
"It is a blessing to see so many people contribute to this great cause," Parker said. "The E.R. Plumbing Services staff is committed to giving back to the community, and that includes helping get the word out about efforts such as this one. The staff gives of its time and energy, but our staff also is proud to act as a motivating force in the community as a whole, encouraging other companies and individuals to start volunteering. When one company makes an effort, other companies and individuals realize that they also can make a difference."
School supply collection results will be published soon. In the meantime, E.R. Plumbing Services is gearing up for another way to give back — through the gift of two concert tickets this fall to the October Carrie Underwood concert in Charlotte. "Sometimes the gift of a fun night out is what people need," says Parker. Charlotte Plumbers Support, Promote and Staff School Supplies Donation Campaign
July 7, 2016
Charlotte plumbing company E.R. Plumbing Services is supporting, promoting and manning the upcoming Channel 9 School Tools campaign.
After a very successful 9 Food Drive, E.R. Plumbing Services is looking forward to the station’s largest donation drive of the year: Outreach Channel 9 School Tools.
WSOC-TV's 9 School Tools campaign is a part of the Channel 9 Family Focus brand and was introduced in 1997. Covering over 22 counties, this is the largest school supply drive in the Carolinas; it has served over 3 million children to date. In partnership with Communities in Schools Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Classroom Central, WSOC-TV collects school supplies during the month of August, which are then distributed to students in grades K - 12. These items play a big role in preparing students to be successful in the upcoming school year.
The television campaign begins July 9, and E.R. Plumbing Services will host a collection site. Both physical and monetary donations are encouraged; Classroom Central can turn every one-dollar donation into five dollars of school supplies.
School supplies can be dropped off at 11345 Allen Station Dr in Mint Hills between July 9 and August 20th. On Wednesday August 17th, donations will be collected at the WSOC Channel 9 television station between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. At that time, E.R. Plumbing Services will man the donation location, providing manpower to help accept and load donations into the truck for delivery to Classroom Central. From that point, school supplies will be distributed to children in need around the Charlotte area.
On Saturday, August 20th, school supplies will be collected by letter carriers around the Charlotte. Simply mark school supplies “Channel 9 School Tools” and leave the donation in a mailbox. A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier will deliver the donation to Classroom Central, and the supplies will be distributed from there.
Charlotte Plumber Announces Results of Summer 2016 Food Drive
June 26, 2016
Charlotte residential plumber David Parker, owner of E.R. Plumbing Services, announced record-breaking food drive results.
"The collective results for the 2016 Channel 9 Food Drive is 35,141 pounds of food donated. That translates to 23,427 individual meals! With the help of our customers, staff and fellow Charlotte residents, we broke the previous 2008 record of 23,000 pounds. Of this we are very proud."
E.R. Plumbing Services provided a drop off site and manned the drive at the Channel 9 TV station. Nonperishable food donations were collected and transported to Second Harvest. From that point, foodstuffs were distributed to agencies around the Charlotte metro area to be given to people in need of assistance.
The Charlotte plumbing company also encouraged monetary donations to the food drive. Monetary donations were converted into food donations at an approximate rate of seven pounds of food per dollar donated. "We were thrilled to see how great of a difference the food drive makes for the community. One in five kids in Charlotte go hungry over the summer; that's a daunting statistic. Kids on free/reduced lunch struggle to find proper meals during summer break," Parker says. "Nearly 20 percent of the Charlotte metro area lives in poverty. E.R. Plumbing Services is determined to do whatever we can to help those folks have access to proper nourishment. That's why our staff members volunteer in a myriad of ways."
E.R. Plumbing Services has been serving a thirty-mile radius of Charlotte since 1997. The plumbing company has an A rating on Angie's List and an A rating from the Better Business Bureau. The company provides residential and commercial plumbing services to homeowners and businesses, providing a variety of plumbing services including leak detection, drain clearing, water heater and gas line service. "We're using an electronic tool to keep the tickets giveaway fair and square," Dave Parker, owner of E.R. Plumbing Services, says. "No purchase or expense is necessary. The winning name is drawn electronically and randomly."
On June 13th, E.R. Plumbing Services gave away four tickets to the July 17th Rascal Flatts concert in Charlotte to Tina Whitley of the Charlotte area.
"We've given away different prizes in the past," Parker says. "Tank and tankless water heaters. Whole house water filtration systems. An iPad. A Kindle. Now we're trying to do something fun for the summer. Get folks out to enjoy the summer nights and some good music. Celebrate what a great place Charlotte is."
E.R. Plumbing Services has been serving the Charlotte metro area since 1997. The plumbers recently manned a food drive and sponsored television commercials encouraging local residents to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. The plumbers can be found around town volunteering with the local Room in the Inn program, providing meals, toiletries, clothes, a place to shower and a safe place to sleep for the homeless.
"Our company does our best to give back," Parker says. "When the community comes together and works together, good things happen for everyone. Just a week or so ago, our plumbers served at the food donation drive. Our people felt more blessed than those who received the food donations. It is our company's conviction that it is good policy to give whenever possible. When one person benefits, everyone benefits."
