Why am I running out of hot water quickly? Why do I only have hot water for a few minutes?

Question: Why is my hot water running out in a few minutes? I just replaced the heating element but I'm still running out of hot water quickly.

Answer: If you have hot water for a couple minutes but quickly run out of hot water, it's probably a problem with your dip tube. If your dip tube is dislodged, the cold water that is pumped into your water heater tank stays at the top of the tank instead of going to the bottom.
